Raphaël

a forced duet

Alexander Vantournhout & Bauke Lievens

In Raphaël, two bodies meet. One is active, the other seemingly dead. Together, they dance a forced duet. A shaky dance in which one tries to manipulates the other into an ideal sparring partner, a dummy, or a dead thing. Along the way they explore the elusive boundaries between intimacy and perversity. Raphaël is both a quest for subtle nuances in what appears to be a clear divide and a portrait of the mutual longing that binds us.
