Mats Oosterveld

Mats Oosterveld (2000) is a multifaceted artist and performer. He is trained in acrobatics and dance at the CNAC, the Centre National des Arts du Cirque in Châlons-en-Champagne, France. Originally from the Netherlands and raised in Sweden, Mats discovered circus at the age of eleven, inspired by its freedom and expressive potential, something he felt he missed in his earlier gymnastics training.

After graduating in 2024, he started working as a performer with Compagnie Kiaï (Pulse), and Not Standing (Foreshadow). Alongside performing, he is actively developing his own artistic work. Deeply influenced by his love of languages, literature, and music — especially piano — greatly influence the way he creates and thinks about the performing arts. Currently, Mats is collaborating with Christophe Huysman on projects exploring dance theatre and circus, and with Sonny Crowden on a venture blending music, performance, and drag.
